Absa Bank Kenya has partnered with Visa to launch the Metallic Infinite Card on September 17, 2024. This card is the first of its kind in Kenya, featuring a metallic design aimed at affluent customers.
ABSA Bank Kenya Managing Director Abdi Mohamed speaking during the launch of the card emphasized the bank’s commitment to providing tailored solutions for different customer segments.
“Today, more than ever, customers and businesses demand flexibility, efficiency, and personalization in how they transact. As a business, we understand that we cannot afford to have an approach of a one-fits-all. Through our partnership with Visa, the Absa Visa Infinite Card strengthens our affluent portfolio by providing exclusive spending power, enhanced protection, and superior rewards,” said the ABSA managing director.
Additionally, Visa East Africa Vice President and General Manager Chad Pollock highlighted Visa’s dedication to innovation and providing unparalleled experiences.

Advantages of the Metallic Card
The press release also highlighted various unique and exclusive functionality of the Infinite metallic Card.
It revealed that the card blends functionality and sophistication to offer the card holder with an elevated experience.
Some of the benefits mentioned include unlimited access to over 1,200 airport lounges and 900 hotels worldwide, as well as 24-hour concierge services.
Moreover, the card also offers, comprehensive travel insurance with a tripled coverage limit of $2.5 million (approximately KES 322.5 million), enhances buyer protection, doubling the limit from $10,000 to $20,000 (approximately KES 1.3 million to KES 2.6 million), and guarantees 1.5% rewards on both local and international purchases.

ABSA’s Metallic Card Vs Plastic Card
The metallic card is more durable than plastic cards and supports Absa’s goal of becoming net zero by 2050.
Additionally, 0.05% of every on-flight ticket purchase made with the card supports tree-planting efforts.
Conclusively, ABSA’s Director Affluent Banking, Seema de Souza affirmed that the bank is well-positioned to cater to the evolving needs of affluent customers in Kenya.
