Vivo Energy Kenya Limited led Kenya’s petroleum market with a 19.70% share of local sales of imported petroleum products, according to data from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
According to the EPRA Report for the Year Ended 30th June 2026, released on September 29, Vivo Energy sold 1.25 million cubic meters (m³) of imported petroleum products during the period under review, putting it ahead of other major oil marketing companies (OMCs).
“There were 154 registered OMCs as of June 2026, an increase from 146 in the previous year. These companies market AGO, PMS, IK and Jet A-1,” read part of the report.
Vivo Energy Dominates Kenya’s Fuel Market
TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya Plc ranked second with 894,087.51 m³, representing 14.12% of the market, while Rubis Energy Kenya Plc followed closely with 888,772.62 m³, equivalent to 14.04%.
The three companies collectively accounted for 47.86% of local sales of imported petroleum products.
Ola Energy Kenya Limited held a 3.56% share after recording sales of 225,266 m³, followed by Hass Petroleum Kenya Limited at 3.44% and Galana Energies Limited at 3.35%.
Be Energy Limited accounted for 3.11%, while Stabex International Ltd had 2.84%. Vitalac International Limited and Petro Oil Kenya Limited recorded 2.41% and 2.39%, respectively.
Other companies in the top 20 included Kengas Kenya Limited, Lake Oil Limited, Astrol Petroleum Company Limited, Towba Petroleum Company Limited, Aftah Petroleum (K) Ltd, Dalbit Petroleum Limited, E3 Energy Kenya Limited, Tosha Petroleum (Kenya) Limited, Gulf Energy Holdings Limited and Fossil Supplies Limited.
The 20 listed OMCs collectively accounted for 84.97% of the market, while other companies shared the remaining 15.03%.

Moto Spirt
The market share for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) during the period under review was led by Vivo Energy Kenya Limited at 20.37%.
TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya Plc followed with 14.29%, while Rubis Energy Kenya Plc held 11.38%. E3 Energy Kenya Limited accounted for 3.83%, followed by Vitalac International Limited at 3.62% and Petro Oil Kenya Limited at 3.55%.
Ola Energy Kenya Limited had a 3.13% market share, while Kengas Kenya Limited accounted for 2.84%. Astrol Petroleum Company Limited and Aftah Petroleum (K) Ltd held 2.64% and 2.54%, respectively.
The remaining oil marketing companies collectively accounted for 31.76% of the PMS market share during the period under review.

Jet Fuel and Kerosene Market Share
The market share for Jet A-1 (JET) during the period under review was led by Rubis Energy Kenya Plc at 33.60%.
Be Energy Limited followed with 14.09%, while Hass Petroleum Kenya Limited accounted for 13.14%. Stabex International Ltd held 12.94%, followed by TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya Plc at 11.84%.
Vivo Energy Kenya Limited accounted for 4.82% of the JET market, while Ola Energy Kenya Limited held 4.27%. Finejet Limited, Jaguar Petroleum Limited and Costalina Energy Limited recorded market shares of 1.72%, 1.42% and 0.36%, respectively.
The remaining oil marketing companies collectively accounted for 1.79% of the JET market share during the period under review.
For Illuminating Kerosene (IK), Evon International Energy Limited held the largest market share at 24.99%, followed by Vivo Energy Kenya Limited at 23.84% and Be Energy Limited at 12.60%.
TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya Plc accounted for 9.49%, while Ramji Haribhai Devani Limited held 6.08%. Rubis Energy Kenya Plc, Lake Oil Limited, Ilade Oil Co. Limited, Green Wells Energies Limited and Galana Energies Limited recorded 2.91%, 2.85%, 2.01%, 1.86% and 1.78%, respectively.
