Kenya Airways has announced changes to its flights operating in four different countries across Africa.
The airline made the announcement to its customers, stating that the review will enable it to deliver better services and optimize network connectivity.
According to a statement on Monday, August 5, Kenya Airways has reviewed the schedule for flights connecting to and from Tanzania, South Africa, Cameroon and the Central Africa Republic.
“Our promise is to deliver the best level of service and a delightful experience for all guests every time they choose to travel with Kenya Airways.
“It is for this reason that we routinely review our schedule to optimize the network connectivity and ensure it is efficient and convenient,” read the statement in part.

Details of Changes in Kenya Airways Flights
KQ has introduced daily flights operating at mid-day to Dar es Salaam. The move was effected on July 1, 2024, with additional flights slotted on Wednesday and Friday.
This means that customers travelling to Dar es Salaam have a total of 28 weekly KQ flights.
“Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania – In response to market demand, KQ introduced daily flights on KQ484/5 which operates at mid-day to Dar es Salaam effective 1st July 2024 with additional flights slotted on Wednesday and Friday.
“This change will offer KQ guests a total of 28 weekly flights to Dar es Salaam providing them with more flexibility and options for travel,” stated Kenya Airways.
However, for Bangui, Central Africa Republic, KQ will from August 9, suspend all the flights to the location.
“Effective 9th August 2024, KQ will suspend indefinitely all 5 weekly flights to Bangui, Central Africa Republic.
“This will allow the airline to refocus its efforts on optimizing its route network and improving overall operational efficiency. We apologize to all guests who will be impacted by this change,” explained KQ.

Other African Countries
On the other hand, Kenya Airways has announced that flights to Douala in Cameroon will from August 11, be operated nonstop.
The statement noted that this will ensure shorter flight time and better connectivity.
“All 5 weekly flights to Douala, Cameroon will be operated non-stop from Nairobi and back without a tag, offering shorter flight time and better connectivity through Nairobi and beyond.”
At the same time, the airline has upgraded 4 weekly night flights to Johannesburg in South Africa.
According to KQ, passengers will now get more seats, space and comfort on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
“Johannesburg, South Africa – Effective 1st August 2024, KQ has upgraded the 4 weekly night flights KQ765/4 to be operated on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner providing guests with more seats, space and comfort.
“KQ guests currently have 26 weekly flights to Johannesburg to choose from,” explained the statement.
Also, flights to Cape Town, South Africa have been upgraded and will be operated on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
“The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, offering 30 fully lie flat seats in business and 204 economy seats with generous seat pitch.”
