Kenyan Construction Company Gabeire A Group (GAG) has been awarded a multibillion-dollar tender to construct a 25O kilometer road in Madagascar.
The company secured the contract after successful bidding for the monumental project, valued at Ksh13o billion and funded by the World Bank.
Gabeire A Group Company will be exporting services, manpower, expertise, and machinery to contribute to Africa economic integration through Infrastructure development.

The road will be the first toll highway in Madagascar that will embody connectivity and advancement slashing the distance between Antananarivo and Toamasina by 110 km and reducing the travel time from nine hours to a mere three.
It will also boost Kenya’s economic relations with Madagascar and bolster its position within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

CS Miano Says Involvement of Gabeire A Group Will Boost Trade and Investment
While commemorating the beginning of the construction of the multibillion-dollar project, Investments, Trade and Industry CS Rebecca Miano said it was a monumental milestone in infrastructure development not only in Kenya but also in Africa.
“Did you know that Africa has only 1 million kilometers of tarmac roads out of a possible 30 million kilometers? That is why I am elated today to have launched a project where a Kenyan Company has been awarded a contract to construct a 250-kilometer road linking Antananarivo to Toamasina in Madagascar,” the CS said.
The CS said the achievement underscores Kenya’s prowess and capability in infrastructure development and investment expertise.

She further extended her heartfelt appreciation to President William Ruto for his steadfast support in fostering a favorable business environment and showcasing Kenya on the global stage.
“This infrastructure venture holds immense promise for Kenya, acting as a catalyst for trade with export of Kenyan expertise in construction and technology consultancy, as well as investment,” the CS further said.
“Moreover, it is poised to generate employment opportunities for both countries, further propelling economic growth in Africa.”
