Signature Mall is a modern mixed-use retail and entertainment complex located along Mombasa Road in Nairobi, about 25 kilometres south of the central business district and near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The mall was developed by Canon Aluminium Fabricators Ltd., with construction beginning in January 2016 at a cost of approximately US$11 million (around KSh 1.14 billion), financed through a mix of debt and equity.
In 2018, Signature Mall was officially opened, recording an occupancy rate of about 60-65 per cent. It houses major tenants, including Choppies Kenya, and features a hotel operated under the Azure Best Western franchise.
The mall has a gross lettable area of 259,300 square feet and accommodates more than 100 tenants, including retail shops, offices, and the Azure Best Western hotel.
How Signature Mall Operates
The Mall operates several companies in the retail, entertainment, food, and hospitality sectors.
Choppies Kenya, which sells a large selection of groceries and household goods, dominates the majority of the space.
Furthermore, it has a hypermarket, as well as over 100 retail establishments that sell clothing, shoes, furniture, health and beauty products, and optical services.
