Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) Director General Ezra Chiloba cut short his interview with the press after he got wind of Kisumu demonstrators.
Kisumu residents were demonstrating against the high cost of living as directed by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Moreover, Ezra Chiloba was presiding over a celebration to mark world consumer’s rights day at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga sports Complex.
He was in the middle of a press briefing which he left and dashed to his vehicle that ferried him out of the sport’s complex unknown to the protesting residents who were gain access into the complex sending panic to the coordinators.
The Kisumu residents had trekked from Kondele to the County Commissioner’s office where they issued a memorandum.
In addition, Kisumu Central ODM chairman Seth Kanga directed the demonstrators to head to the sports complex where they had wind ICT CS Eliud Owalo was present.

The demonstrators were shouting CS Owalo’s name looking for him everywhere in the sports complex.
As such they swarmed the event as those who were in the queue for lunch ran for safety. Moreover, they helped themselves to the food that was meant for guests attending the event.
The demonstrators pulled out the fliers as the few police officers providing security at the event stood aside without taking any action.
Nevertheless, the event organizers who had mounted stands hastily closed shop for fear that those protesting would loot their products on display.
