A man form Kakamega County has been placed under police custody for allegedly hitting his brother to death over Sardines comonly known as Omena.
The two brothers from Kambi Elijah village in Likuyani Constituency were sharing a meal at their mother’s house before they disagreed over a portion of the delicacy.
The incident saw the suspect identified as Albert Adamba descend on his 56-year-old brother John Kilibwa, who later succumbed to his injuries.
Moreover, their elder brother Vincent Misango reported that the two siblings started by a war of words which facilitated the anger towards each other.
Adamba overpowered Kilibwa, flooring him in the battle to fix their insatiable hunger.
“It is a sad state of affairs, given that they fought at their mother’s house at their age. We now have a mountain out of a small matter,” Jimmy Ngwayumba, a village elder, said.
Furthermore, Kilibwa who sustained injuries during the fight was rushed to Turbo Hospital in Kakamega County where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The area Assistant Chief Moses Wanjala said the suspect is being held at Likuyani Police Station awaiting his arraignment.
