Singer Kelvin Kioko aka Bahati has said he knew he was going to be rigged out of the Mathare constituency race in the August 9, 2022, General Election.
Speaking for the first time on the issue, Bahati said he went to the polls well aware of a lot to rig him out
“So I did not win, but I knew they would steal my votes, but I tried,” he said.
Bahati, who vied on a Jubilee party ticket, garnered 8,166 votes to finish third against Anthony Oluoch of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party who managed 28,098 votes.
Bilian Ojiwa of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) came second after securing 16,912 votes.
Initially,Bahati had been asked by Azimio leaders to step down in favour of Oluoch but he refused.
After the shocking defeat, Bahati ultimately stopped posting on social media .
He neither conceded defeat nor contested the results.
