Two shop owners in Dandora found themselves in the spotlight following the recovery of 95 stolen phones, one of which belonged to a murder victim.
The suspects, Malcom Omondi Odhiambo from MJ Investments and Justus Muema Mutungi from Neema shop in Dandora Phase IV, were arrested in connection with these illicit activities.
The two were arrested following a brief interrogation of two key suspects in the murder by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers based at Starehe.
The investigation revealed a disturbing link between the recovered phones and criminal incidents in the area, shedding light on the intricate web of crime that law enforcers are now working to unravel.

The suspects were implicated in buying phones stolen from robbery victims within Eastlands, further complicating the case.
Law enforcement’s investigations led to the seizure of 95 mobile phones believed to be stolen goods from the shops operated by these individuals.
Notably, a phone belonging to the murder victim was traced back to one of the suspects, highlighting the interconnected nature of these crimes.
“This is after painstaking investigations led sleuths to Malcom’s business shop where the victim’s mobile phone earlier robbed by the perpetrators of the evil act was taken, and later sold out by him to Justus who was arrested in its possession,” reads part of the statement.
Arrest of the suspects directly involved in the murder
Additionally, two more individuals, Nehemia Odhiambo and Emmanuel Otieno, were apprehended on Saturday March 16, allegedly for their direct involvement in the murder of the young man in the wee hours of Thursday, March 7.
Investigations by the DCI revealed that the two suspects together with the deceased were walking in the same direction and after a disagreement, one of them drew a knife and stabbed the other on the left side of the chest.

“The two suspects who fled the scene after the heinous act were smoked from their hide outs in Baraka estate and Kwa Bhajia areas in Dandora have been linked to a spate of criminal activities that have been reported in Baba dogo, Huruma and Lucky Summer,” the DCI added.
