Nelly Kosgei, a resident of Naivasha-Mirera area, narrated a harrowing experience where she fell victim of robbery orchestrated by five thugs disguised as police officers.
Recounting her ordeal, Kosgei described the traumatic event that unfolded in her own home, leaving her and her family in a state of shock and despair.
The incident occurred on a seemingly ordinary evening when Kosgei returned home from work, anticipating a peaceful night with her family.
Arriving home minutes before 9 p.m., Kosgei parked her Nissan Dualis, black in color, bearing the registration plate KDC 302V, blissfully unaware of the impending danger that lurked in the shadows.

How Nelly Kosgei was Robbed
As she settled into her evening routine, preparing dinner, and tending to her daughter, Kosgei received an unexpected call from her caretaker, claiming to be unwell and in need of assistance.
“This is how it happened, I drove home from work, arrived at some mins to 9pm, parked the car, warmed food, checked my daughter and wished her goodnight.”
“When I started eating my caretaker called and told me to open the door he is not feeling well, they had tied him and instructed him to call me,” Kosgei Stated.
Oblivious to the ruse, Kosgei hastened to answer the door, only to be violently accosted by one of the assailants who forcibly restrained her while others proceeded to retrieve her daughter from her bedroom.
“On opening I was pushed by one of them and ordered to lie down, another one went to bring my daughter from bedroom,” she explained.
From that moment onward, Kosgei and her family were subjected to a relentless onslaught of terror and intimidation that lasted for hours, stretching into the early morning.
“We were tormented from 9 pm to 2 Am,” she said.

Stolen Properties by the Thugs
Bound by fear and helplessness, Kosgei recalls watching the intruders ransack her home, pillaging valuables she said included two television sets, two laptops, five mobile phones, WIFI Router, Smart Watch, a soundbar, and her Nissan Dualis.
In a desperate bid to appease their captors and secure their safety, Kosgei was coerced into taking out loans from mobile loan applications, further exacerbating their already dire situation.
“They made me take loans from mobile loans apps,” she said.
After the incident, Kosgei reported the incident at Naivasha police station awaiting investigations to bring the culprits to book.
