Detectives have arrested three Pakistani nationals in an operation to rescue two Indian nationals who were kidnapped shortly after arriving at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and held hostage in Kajiado County.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives from the Operation Support Unit (OSU) led the operations that led to the arrest of three Pakistani nationals.
According to the DCI, the two Indian nationals, identified as Sandeep Sandeep and Ishwar Singh, arrived in Kenya on August 10, 2026, and cleared immigration at JKIA at around 2:50 p.m.
“Two Indian nationals kidnapped shortly after arriving at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have been rescued, while three Pakistani nationals suspected of holding them hostage have been arrested in a swift, intelligence-led operation by detectives from the Operation Support Unit (OSU). The two victims, identified as Sandeep Sandeep and Ishwar Singh, arrived at JKIA on August 10, 2026, and were cleared through Immigration at about 2:50 pm,” a statement released August 14 read.
Detectives established that shortly after leaving the airport, the Indians were received by two men before boarding a white Nissan Note that drove away from the airport.
Acting on intelligence leads, investigators traced the movement of the victims to a bungalow in Tumaini Estate, Nkoroi, Kajiado South.
The victims were reportedly found with their hands and legs tied and were visibly distressed following the ordeal.

Suspects Arrested
Three Pakistani nationals were arrested at the scene.
Investigators believe the suspects were part of a kidnapping-for-ransom scheme targeting the two visitors shortly after they arrived in the country.
Further inquiries revealed that the suspects contacted the victims’ relatives in India through WhatsApp and demanded KSh 4.1 million in exchange for their release.
During the operation, detectives also recovered the victims’ mobile phones, hidden about two kilometers from the house where the kidnapped Indians were being held.
Currently, the three suspects remain in police custody and are undergoing processing pending their arraignment in court.

Detectives on Earlier Foreigner Kidnapping
The arrest of three Pakistanis linked to the kidnapping of the Indians comes days after DCI’s Operations Support Unit (OSU) rescued three Indian nationals who went missing after arriving at JKIA on August 5.
DCI said that six suspects were arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
Investigators traced the kidnapped nationals to a two-bedroom house in Ruiru’s Fort Jesus area, Kiambu County, following intelligence-led investigations into a suspected human trafficking case.
“Detectives from the Operations Support Unit (OSU) have arrested six suspects and rescued three Indian nationals who had been reported missing after arriving in Kenya on August 5, DCI reported.
During preliminary interrogation, the suspects claimed they were assisting the three Indian nationals to travel to Italy via Ethiopia.
However, upon investigation, the detectives linked the six suspects as accomplices to a human trafficking network.
