Detectives in Nairobi are leading a probe into the murder of a businessman of Indian descent, Sagar Panara in Parklands, Nairobi who was shot dead by unknown assailants in what appears to be a targeted attack on Tuesday evening.
This is after the killers left a clue on their possible motive in the shooting of Panara, a 36-year-old MART Networks employee.

Detectives are pursuing the motive of land in Narok which the family of Panara owns. The man was shot once in the neck by assailants who were on a motorcycle.
According to police reports, he was shot as he returned home from the Aga Khan Sports Club which raised the possibility that he was being trailed from the Sports club.

Police officers and neighbors quickly responded to the gunshots, rushing the 36-year-old to Aga Khan Hospital, where he passed away while receiving emergency treatment.
Panara’s wife, Nejal Panara, confirmed that her husband had arrived moments after returning from the sports club.
Investigators after sweeping the crime scene found six ominous leaflets left behind by the assailants at the scene.
The notes bore the message “VACATE NAROK LAND, ONE PANARA DOWN, AND NAROK,” with the cryptic note leading the authorities to suspect that the attack may be tied to a land dispute in Narok, potentially providing a motive for the fatal shooting.
Police are also considering whether the Panara family’s possible ties to a piece of land in Narok could have triggered the violent attack.

Panara’s family also said they had received death threats over the land.
Police launch investigations
While responding to the incident, Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei termed the murder cold blood revealing more experts had joined in the probe.
“They left leaflets to show they killed him over a land issue in Narok. The family too has indicated there were threats over the same issue. We will ensure justice in the matter,” he said.
On his part, the deceased’s brother Ravi Panara confirmed that they have been receiving threats over their Narok land.
“These threats have been there, and it seems they were serious,” he told police.
Investigators are expected to visit the land in dispute as part of the probe.
