The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has detained a mother who killed her four-year-old son after he soiled himself and took his lifeless body to the morgue.
In a statement released on February 16, 2025, by DCI, the crime involved two women, a mother and her friend.

“The suspect-Melvin Owuor (mother) while in the company of her friend is reported to have taken a lifeless body of the child to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary on December 9, 2024,” the statement read.
However, the suspect failed to return after reporting the incident to the police after being guided by the morgue officials.

Details of Investigation on the Mother
Detectives from Dandora in collaboration with Crime Research and Investigative Bureau (CRIB) Hawkshaws launched investigations.
The facility mortician after raising suspicion reported the incident the incident at Mowlem police station.

In their investigations, they were drawn from the Nairobi area and swung into action where they established shocking details about the child’s final moments.
They found out that the suspect who had claimed that the child died while asleep, the minor had succumbed to injuries inflicted by his mother after an alleged incident.
Further, the boy reportedly had soiled himself while answering the call of nature.
Upon deeper interrogation, it was uncovered that Melvin Owuor is the biological mother of the deceased child a revelation that has added a layer of even darker layer to the untimely death of the boy.

Suspects Detained
The detectives will continue to piece together details concerning the death of the minor and hold the suspects responsible for their actions.
However, the suspects shall remain in custody to help detectives unravel the full story of the child’s tragic death.
