Renowned Marathoner Eliud Kipchoge has made headlines, capturing the attention of his fans and followers with his daring fashion choices which have been compared to those of rapper Kanye West.
In recent videos and photos circulating online, Kipchoge is seen sporting a striking black outfit, which has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some praising his daring style and others expressing surprise at his departure from his usual athletic attire.
Kipchoge attended the “Nike on Air” event held in Paris on April 11, 2024, where he was featured as a model wearing the bold black ensemble.
The event showcased Nike’s innovative A.I.R. (Athlete Imagined Revolution) concept footwear, featuring new Air shoes tailored for soccer, basketball, and running, including products like the Maxfly2 and Victory 2 models.
Public Reaction to Kipchoge’s Outfit
An X user named, Simon Wachira commented on the new look saying, “Eliud Kipchoge pulling a ‘cyborg’ sort of look. Looks like he has a ‘bad guy’ look for a potential movie role after marathon.”

Nike Chief Design Officer’s remarks
Nike’s Chief Design Officer, Martin Lotti, while speaking to the media, emphasized the importance of innovation and excellence in sports footwear design, highlighting the increased energy return provided by the improved Nike Air technology.
“The Olympics represents the biggest platform for sports – the athletes have been training all their lives to get ready for this,” Lotti said.
“Being in the sports industry, designing sports equipment for footwear and apparel, it’s also our pinnacle moment.”
The event was held in support of the reveal of Nike’s new Air shoes, with athletes from various disciplines taking to the stage to model their country’s kits and shoes.
Nike’s past collaboration with Kipchoge
Kipchoge’s fashion choices not only reflect his personal style but also demonstrate his versatility and dedication to excellence in various aspects of his career.
However, this is not Kipchoge’s first collaboration with Nike. In 2023, the two brands joined forces resulting in the release of the EK Umoja collection.
