Content creator and YouTuber Mungai Eve is currently on vacation in Zanzibar, seemingly unfazed by the recent revelations made by her ex-lover, Director Trevor.

The couple, known for their popular YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram content covering lifestyle, fashion, comedy, and social issues, had amassed a substantial fan base over the years.

However, Trevor dropped a bombshell, announcing his complete takeover of their main YouTube channel, boasting more than 750,000 subscribers, and rebranding it as Kenya Online Media (KOM)

In a surprising turn, he declared the end of his partnership with Mungai, asserting that he no longer required her services.

“Her services are no longer needed,” Trevor responded to a fan who asked whether he would still work with Eve after rebranding.

Trevor disclosed that he had removed Mungai Eve from the management of their other online platforms, including the Insta Fame YouTube channel, boasting over 100,000 subscribers, and a Facebook page with an impressive following of over 847,000.

Mungai Eve response to the drama

In response, Mungai shared a screenshot of her Instagram stories with viewers, acknowledging the surge in attention following the news of her ‘firing.’

She wrote: “Eeeiy I see y’all.”  and “A good day to place your ads with me.”

While Mungai remains silent on the matter, Director Trevor’s bold move has undoubtedly left their fans and followers in shock, raising questions about the future of the once dynamic duo’s online presence.

Public reactions

The highly publicized breakup between Director Trevor and Mungai Eve has stirred a wave of reactions from netizens with the focus of discussion revolving around the subsequent rebranding of their formerly shared social media accounts.

Amidst the ongoing debate about intellectual property rights, netizens expressed varying opinions on what each party should do.

One supporter, Dianah Kamande, advises women not to build their lives around a man and stands with Mungai Eve, recognizing the brand she has built.

“Dear ladies None of your business should fall in love, Period! Never program your life around a man, otherwise itakuwa mbaya (It will be bad). If all this is true, I stand with Mungai Eve she has really built her brand,” wrote Dianah Kamande.

“Trevor was so wise for not sharing the social media passwords with Eve Mungai in their 4 years of dating. Hangekua mjanja saa hii kingemramba mbaya sana (If he wasn’t clever, it would have not gone well for him),” said Juddah.

Meanwhile, Naomi Waithira emphasized the significance of being a brand, saying “I would rather be a BRAND than have a channel. Eve Mungai has WON. Afungue channel and grow it, in 1 year she will be somewhere winning,”

Several influential people have also chimed in on the matter including the likes of Andrew Kibe and Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai.

Kibe shared a video of his past messages to Trevor and Mungai Eve with the caption “Ati Trevor na Mungai Eve wanatrend because of why?! which can be translated to ” Why is Trevor and Mungai Eve trending?”

Alai on the other hand, through his official X account, suggested that Mungai should take legal action against Trevor arguing that the channel which boasts over 700K subscribers and millions of views was built with her brand.

“Eve Mungai should sue Trevor and recover all her pages Eve Mungai built the pages using her image and went to great lengths to sacrifice everything for the pages to grow.”

“I remember how many times we interacted with her while chasing a story. She shouldn’t let the channels go that easily,” said the MCA.

Nonetheless, by press time, Mungai Eve had not addressed the issue leaving fans and followers guessing her next move.
