The French Embassy in Kenya has invited applications for the 2026–2027 Language Teaching Assistant Program in France.
According to an announcement published on its website, the application period will run from November 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026.
The Language Assistant Program offers Kenyans the opportunity to teach English in France for a period of seven months. A total of 170 positions will be available for Kenyan students to teach in public schools across all regions of France and in the French Overseas Departments.
“The Language Assistant Programme offers you the opportunity to teach English in France for seven months, to students and pupils of all ages. Each year, about 170 positions are offered to Kenyan students to teach in public schools in all regions of France and in the French Overseas Departments,” said the Embassy.
French Embassy Announces Teaching Opportunities for Kenyans
The Embassy further announced that the pre-selection of candidates, based on application files, will take place in January 2026.
The interview phase for shortlisted candidates will run from January 15 to February 28, 2026. The announcement of interview results will be made in May 2026. Confirmation of final assignments and placements will be done in June 2026.
Eligibility Criteria for the 2026–2027 Intake
To qualify, candidates must:
- Be Kenyan citizens.
- Be between 20 and 35 years old on the start date of the program.
- Have completed the majority of their studies in Kenya.
- Be enrolled in a university, TVET, or college and have completed at least two years of studies by the application date. Applicants from all fields of study are eligible. Students from Alliance Française also meet this requirement.
- Have a minimum French proficiency of B1 on the CEFR scale. An official evaluation of French skills is required.
How to Apply
To apply for the Language Assistant Program, applicants must submit their application through the Adele Platform by first creating an account.

- Select your nationality in the dropdown list.
- Use an email address that will remain active throughout the entire program period. Applicants are advised not to use a student email address.

- You will receive an automatic confirmation email shortly after clicking “Create your account.” If it delays, check your spam folder.
- Click the link in the email to create your password and access your account.
- The link expires in 24 hours. If it expires, a new link will be sent automatically.
Application Process
Applicants must fill out six sections. Completed sections will turn green.
- Personal Data:
Select your country and your current university/school. Only select “France Éducation International” if you are not currently a student. - Educational Background:
Provide details of your secondary and higher education. Include the last academic year you completed.
List all foreign languages you speak and indicate your level in French and your mother tongue (the language you will teach in France). - Destination:
Once Sections 1 and 2 are completed, you can access “France” as your destination.
Read the campaign details (dates, salary, etc.) carefully and confirm the destination. - Evaluating Professor:
If no teacher appears in this section, it means they have not yet registered on the platform. - Your Strong Points:
In this section, you can add any skill or experience that you deem necessary. This is also where you will write your motivation letters
Once your application is complete and assessed by your teacher, you can validate it (validating your application is final!). Your application will then display the following status: “Received by FEI or partner”
About the Programme
The Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) is a cultural exchange initiative that allows native English speakers to work as language assistants in French public schools. Participants support English learning for seven months, helping students improve conversational skills while sharing their culture.
The program is administered by the French Ministry of Education in partnership with organizations such as France Éducation International and Villa Albertine.
