Kenyatta University Opens Applications for On-Campus Accommodation; How to Apply

The Directorate of Accommodation Services at Kenyatta University has announced the opening of the online portal for first-year students to apply for on-campus accommodation ahead of the 2024/2025 academic year.

This opportunity will be available to all first-year students interested in securing one of the limited available spaces. The application period begins on May 31, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. and will close on July 14, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.

The directorate warned of the limited spaces and clarified that submitting an application does not guarantee room allocation.

Applications must be submitted using personal Gmail accounts through the provided application link.

“Due to the limited number of bed spaces, submitting an application does not guarantee room allocation. Successful applicants will be notified via the Kenyatta University accommodation homepage before the start of the academic year,” the Directorate of Accommodation Services Isanda B. said.

He further said that “once a room is allocated and invoiced, the accommodation fee is neither refundable, transferable, nor reversible.”

Students allocated a room will be required to pay the accommodation fees for both semesters at the beginning of the academic year, as specified in the admission letter.

The Directorate of Accommodation Services strongly advises on the method of payment, warning students not to pay via M-Pesa or to any personal numbers.

“Rooms are allocated for the entire academic year, covering two semesters. All payments must be made into the Kenyatta University bank accounts and not via M-Pesa or to any personal numbers,” Isanda warned.

Speaking during the release of the placement results, KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome announced that the portal will be opened starting from June 5, 2024, for willing students to apply for transfers to other institutions.

The inter-university transfers enable those students who were not satisfied with the institutions in which they were placed to have an opportunity to transfer to the institution of their choice.

Students can change the institution where they have been placed or change both institution and course subject to the applicable cut-off points through the inter-institutional transfer process.
