How to Apply through KUCCPS
Applications will be submitted through the KUCCPS Student Portal at http://students.kuccps.net.
Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications by filling their details when prompted by the placement service website.
In the announcement, KUCCPS stated that applications should be submitted before the March 20, 2025, deadline.
Nonetheless, applicants applying for the primary education courses must have a minimum of a C (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
For secondary education courses, a C+ in KCSE or its equivalent is required.
Also, the KUCCPS CEO noted that the application is open to Kenyans and non-Kenyan citizens.
“Those with other qualifications different from KCSE should seek equation from Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) to enable them to apply. KUCCPS is encouraging interested and qualified Form Four leavers from the 2024 KCSE cohort and those from the previous years to apply for the slots,” Wahome said.
To qualify for the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education, applicants must meet the minimum KCSE requirements set by KUCCPS.
Also, those interested in Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education should have subject combinations that align with teaching requirements at the secondary school level.

Why application Portal Still Not Fully Open
Speaking before MPs on February 20, KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome explained that there was a delay in opening the application portal for all students because of a court ruling that declared the new university funding model unconstitutional.
Wahome said the judgment delivered by Justice Chacha Mwita on December 20, 2024, lacked clear directives on handling student placements, including those already admitted to various courses.
To prevent a funding crisis in higher education, KUCCPS postponed the application process while seeking legal redress.
Further, Wahome stated that they had filed a request for the court to suspend or stay the ruling to resolve the uncertainty.
“We have gone to court and filed a request that the court suspends or grant a stay of the execution of the judgement given on December 20,”
“We are happy it was taken as an urgent matter, and we are awaiting a ruling next week. That will be able to give us a direction even as we open the portal,” Wahome stated.
