The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially reopened applications for the September 2025 intake at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).
In an update on Friday, August 15, KUCCPS stated that prospective students can now apply for Certificate and Diploma programmes in various health-related fields offered at KMTC campuses across the country. The application period will run from August 15 to August 28, 2025.
Some of the Diploma programmes available on the KUCCPS portal include the Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics, the Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology, and the Diploma in Physiotherapy. These are among the many options open to applicants for the September 2025 intake.
For those interested in Certificate-level training, available courses include the Certificate in Community Health Assistant, the Certificate in Medical Emergency Technician, and the Certificate in Public Health.
Applicants are encouraged to explore the full list of programmes and apply before the deadline.

How to Apply for KMTC Courses via KUCCPS
- To access the Student Portal, visit the KUCCPS student portal using this link: students.kuccps.net
- Click on the “Login” tab and enter your KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year, and Password. Note: Your password is either your Birth Certificate Number or your KCPE Index Number.
- Once logged in, click on “KMTC Programmes” to view all available courses and their minimum entry requirements.
Applicants will only be able to apply for courses where they meet the minimum requirements. - After reviewing the options, decide on your preferred courses and note their Programme Codes.
- Start Application by clicking on the “KMTC Application” tab, then select “Apply Now.”
- Input the Programme Codes in the form provided, arranging them in your order of priority—from your most preferred course (No. 1) to your least preferred course (No. 4).
- After entering all your preferred Programme Codes, wait for the system to fetch the programme details before clicking Submit.
- After submission, you will be required to pay Ksh1,500. The portal will then display the payment instructions.
The update by KUCCPS comes a week after the placement service announced that it had slashed the application fee for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) placement in the September 2025 intake from Ksh1,500 to Ksh500 to boost access and encourage more students to enroll.
