The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Tuesday, March 19, opened its portal to allow students who did not secure their preferred courses in the first window make fresh applications.
Students who secured their courses from the first application window received a message notifying them to wait for confirmation on the details about the courses. For those who failed to secure a course from the February to March window applications, KUCCPS assured that it would allow revision of the applications without paying the Ksh1,500 fee again.

KUCCPS advises on unavailable courses
At the same time, KUCCPS clarified that some courses, including a host of courses offered at the Kenya Medical and Training College (KMTC, are not available for selection due to high competition and high demand for the available slots.
In a statement, KUCCPS advised that the only KMTC programs available for selection at the moment are Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics, Diploma in Public Health, Certificate in Community Health Assistant, Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology, Certificate in Medical Emergency Technician, Certificate in Medical Engineering, Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics, Certificate in Orthopedic Trauma Medicine, and Certificate in Public Health.
The other programs, according to KUCCPS, are filled up and are not available in the revision of choices.

The placement body also urged students to pay attention to the minimum requirements for every program while applying for courses, noting that the placement exercise is based on merit and available capacity hence a student may miss out on placement due to competition.
“Placement is on merit and available capacity, therefor an applicant may miss on placement due to competition,” KUCCPS stated in a reply to a disgruntled applicant.
Bachelor of education arts has also emerged as one of the most competitive courses in the placement exercise hence the capacity was met in the first application, according to the body.
