Qejani Student Hostels is a shared accommodation for university students, offering them living spaces designed to support their studies.

Who Owns Qejani Hostels?
The hostels are owned by businessman Edward Kirathe, a prominent figure in Kenya’s real estate sector and the founder of Acorn Holdings Limited.
With over 25 years of experience in East Africa’s property sector, the Acorn founder and CEO has pioneered purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and sustainable investment models that are attracting global attention.
According to the Billionaires Africa 2024 report, Kirathe has an estimated net worth of Ksh1.5 billion ($12 million) and is among Kenya’s leading business figures.

In 2021, Acorn broke new ground again with the launch of its Student Accommodation Development REIT (D-REIT) and Income REIT (I-REIT), valued at Ksh7.5 billion.
The Acorn Student Accommodation Development REIT (ASA D-REIT) builds and develops Qwetu and Qejani student hostels.
Once the hostels are complete and running smoothly, the Acorn Student Accommodation Income REIT (ASA I-REIT) purchases these properties from the development REIT and holds them as long-term investments.
