Kenyan comedian and content creator David Oyando alias Mulamwah and Girlfriend Ruth K held their baby shower on Saturday, January 21 in an elegant and lavish event.
The pair are expecting a baby boy as they had previously revealed in a gender reveal party held in December last year.
In a photo posted by Mulamwah on his socials the two can be seen stylishly dressed and posing next to a white carriage as they announced their baby shower.
The duo stepped out for their big day, draped in elegant traditional matching outfits.
Taking inspiration from Tanzanian musician Vanessa Mdee and her American partner Rotimi, Mulamwah and Ruth K were dressed in a maroon and white traditional attire.
Ruth K had on a maroon satin dress with a matching turban as a head accessory and black sandals. She finished the look with a white bag to match her boyfriend’s outfit.
Mulamwah on the other hand went for the white version of the eye-catching outfit worn by Rotimi with maroon embroidery at the neck area.
The couple’s look had slight differences to their international counterparts. As such, they dazzled in their outfits and left tongues wagging with their classy dress code.

Netizen Reactions to the Outfits
However, their look invoked mixed reactions from Netizens with some congratulating them for their style and others comparing them to Rotimi and Vanessa.
A user named Prince Newton made fun referring to a photo collage of the American couple and Mulamwah’s comparing the two images to how one can order something online and get a slightly similar item.
“What you order Vs What you get,” he noted.
Cleolovechild who lauded Mulamwah for organizing a baby shower for the girlfriend said, “Who said luhyas aren’t romantic?”
In a rather playful tone, an Instagram user by the name Hope Kidhk noted that, “Kumbe ukiamua kuoga hua una oga congratulations to both of you.”
This loosely translates to “so, when you decide to clean up, you clean up real nice, congratulations to both of you.”
Mulamwah and Ruth K’s pregnancy Journey
Mulamwah and Ruth announced their pregnancy in November 2023, with the comedian posting a photo of Ruth’s baby bump.
Ruth K, the mum-to-be also shared the same photo on her Instagram page and expressed her joy and gratitude.
The couple received numerous congratulatory messages from their fans, who wished them all the best in their journey to parenthood.

The Gender Reveal
Later on, the couple revealed their baby’s gender via an Instagram video, in what appeared to be a classroom or laboratory setting, both dressed in lab coats as they conducted a series of experiments designed to uncover the gender of their soon-to-arrive bundle of joy.
The two had laid out a range of scientific equipment and mixtures, thoughtfully engaged in the process of concocting a potion.
After mixing the liquids, a vivid blue liquid was seen, indicating that Mulamwah and Ruth K are expecting a baby boy.
“Gender reveal, God is great – we are happy & just out of words,” Mulamwah captioned the video.
Previously in an interview, Ruth revealed they were not planning on having a child this soon.
The 23-year-old further noted that she discovered she was pregnant on her birthday after her fans started making speculations.
“I actually hadn’t realized I was pregnant until my fans noticed. It was during my birthday when I posted videos and photos, and my fans spotted that the size of my tummy was unusual which I honestly hadn’t noticed. I then decided to do a test, and it turned positive,” she said.
Mulamwah is a comedian and content creator in Kenya who has hit the entertainment headlines on several occasions following his relationship life and drama with his ex-girlfriend who is also the mother of his daughter Kayla.
He officially announced his relationship with Ruth K in December 2021 after a bitter and dramatic break-up with his ex-girlfriend Carol Sonnie shortly after the birth of their daughter.
Since then, the comedian and girlfriend have done projects together evident from the series of videos seen on their YouTube channels.
