From radio presenters to deejays and the general audience, everyone has been jamming to Vaida by Harry Richie despite the language barrier.
The song not only gave Harry Richie instant fame but also unexpected riches.
The Kenya Times has learnt the musician is currently the new owner of a brand-new Toyota Rav 4.
A random fan heard the song and just like many Kenyans, was impressed by it.
The song touched the fan deeply that he decided to appreciate the musician with a very expensive gift, a car.
News about the expensive gift was first made public by Harry Richie himself during an interview 2mbili TV.
According to Harry Richie, he could not believe his eyes and ears when a fan reached out to him with news of the pricey gift.
The musician who hails from Western Kenya said he could not believe that a single song could change his life.
Apart from the car, Harry Richie disclosed he has also been receiving monetary gifts and other favours thanks to his new jam Vaida.
Speaking during a separate interview with Radio Citizen, Harry Richie said he never imagined Vaida would be the national anthem.

The musician said he had recorded an entire album and was done but was challenged by people present at the studio to jump on the genre, popularly known as “Al Qaeda”.
Harry Richie said he recorded Vaida just as a “by the way” and to prove to people who challenged him that he can also do “Al Qaeda”.
The star disclosed he was hesitant to record it and even releasing it at first since he is a respected gospel musician.
However, he finally decided to drop it since it is not vulgar and only talks about marriages, relationships and matters relating to the aforementioned.
Well, his gods smiled at him, and he is now one of the most sought-after musicians in the country.
