How to Watch Mbavu vs Majembe Live Online

Kenyans who missed out on tickets for the Mbavu vs Majembe match or are outside Nairobi can still watch the boxing live.

The game will be streamed online starting at 10:30 PM on April 4, 2026, so all supporters can watch the match from anywhere.

To watch online, the following are steps to ensure easier access to the game:

The event is organized by comedian-cum-digital creator Oga Obinna through Obina TV studios. It is set to take place at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi.

Mbavu and Majembe Anticipated April Boxing Fight

Majembe and Mbavu’s fight has attracted widespread interest, and all tickets are sold out, with supporters eager to witness it.

It became popular after President William Ruto stepped in and pledged KSh1 million to each boxer, along with paying for 2,000 match tickets, bringing his total support to KSh4 million. Ruto’s pledge was delivered publicly through Lang’ata MP Jalang’o.

On the other hand, businessman Oketch Salah contributed Ksh200,000 in cash, while Kasarani Member of Parliament Ronald Karauri reportedly went further, pledging Ksh2 million towards the fight.

Elsewhere, DJ Afro is set to bring his iconic voice to a boxing ring for the very first time, providing live commentary for the match.

DJ Afro, whose real name is James Mwangi and who is also known as James Muigai or DJ Amingos, is a household name in both Kenya and Tanzania, with a fanbase that spans generations.

He built his legendary status by dubbing and narrating international action, kung fu, and Indian films into Swahili, Sheng, and Kikuyu, making foreign content feel authentically Kenyan and deeply entertaining.

Majembe and Mbavu’s Profile

Majembe, whose real name is Portifas Odipo, is 21 years old. He was born in 2005 and is one of the youngest boxers to gain attention through social media in Kenya.

Majembe grew up in Manyatta, Kisumu County, as the firstborn in his family, which meant he had responsibilities from a young age. 

Before switching to boxing, he played football for Manyatta United.

Majembe went to Manyatta Primary School and later joined Obambo St. Marks Secondary School, where he studied up to Form Two.

He then moved to St. Ignatius Loyola Magadi Secondary School but did not complete Form Four due to financial difficulties and the need to focus on training and survival.

Elsewhere, Mbavu Destroyer’s real name is Ferdinand Omondi. He is 25 years old, making him older and more experienced in life than Majembe.

Mbavu was born in Migori County and raised by a single mother. He later moved to Eastlands, Nairobi, and grew up in Dandora and Mbotela.

He finished primary school and later attended Makongeni Secondary School, where he sat for his KCSE exams in 2020. After that, he enrolled in an Agricultural Engineering course but left to focus fully on boxing.
