Charles Odhiambo is a media personality with 20 years of experience in the media industry.
His experience spans different fields, including governmental relations, public relations management and event moderation.
Currently, Odhiambo serves as the Chief of Staff at the Homa Bay County government under the leadership of Governor Gladys Wanga. Odhiambo began his role as Chief of Staff in October 2022.
However, on Saturday, March 28, various media reports indicated that Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga officially terminated Odhiambo’s contract due to gross misconduct and actions that brought disrepute to his office, the county, and the Office of the Governor.
Charles Odhiambo Career
Before joining the Homa Bay County government, he worked at Royal Media Services from 2005 to September 2022.
During his 17-year tenure at one of the leading media houses in the country, Odhiambo held various positions.
At the time of his departure from Royal Media, he was the Radio Productions Manager at Royal Media Services. He also worked as a radio presenter at Ramogi FM.
Odhiambo was well-known for leading a panel discussion show on Ramogi FM called “Kaka Wanene”, which is similar to Citizen TV’s “News Gang” show, a program that discusses trending issues affecting the country.
He also hosted shows on Ramogi TV before leaving Royal Media.
Additionally, Charles featured as a resident analyst on a popular talk show called “Cheche,” which aired on Citizen TV, typically on Thursday mornings from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
This show set the stage for in-depth discussions on current affairs, politics, and social issues, often with prominent guests and experts.
While working at Royal Media Services, Odhiambo also served part-time as a Communication Trainer for Deutsche Welle Akademie from August 2015 to November 2019 in Nairobi.
In this role, he trained media professionals on various topics, including devolution, conflict journalism, transparency, and interviewing skills.

Charles Odhiambo holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication and Media Studies from Daystar University.
