Biography
Hailing Narok County, the Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit is the sixth Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK).
The ACK Archbishop is the highest-ranking bishop in the church and is responsible for overseeing the churches and bishops in their assigned diocese
Jackson Ole Sapit Educational Background
Ole Sapit attended his primary and secondary School in Narok County. Having been baptized in 1977, he was 1985, confirmed in 1985 and served as an evangelist and community worker in his home county.
The archbishop joined the Berea Theological College, Nakuru in 1989 to pursue a diploma in Theology.
In 1991 he was ordained as Deacon in 1991 and priested in 1992. He then worked as Vicar at the ACK Belgut Parish in the Diocese of Nakuru from 1992 to 1994.
In 1994, Ole Sapit joined St. Paul’s University for a degree in Divinity. In addition, he got a Certificate of Research/Consultancy from Daystar University in 1999.
From 1997 to 2002, he worked as the Vicar and project manager at the Trans Mara Rural Development Program in Kilgoris Parish, in the Diocese of Kericho.
Ole Sapit later went to the University of Reading, England and pursued a master’s degree in social development and Sustainable Livelihoods in 2003.
The ACK head was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Global University for Lifelong Learning in California.

He served as the Diocesan Mission and Development Coordinator at the ACK Diocese of Nakuru before being consecrated as suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of Kericho.
Elected as Archbishop
Later, Ole Sapit was consecrated as the Diocesan Bishop of the Kericho Diocese in 2008, a role he held up to May 2016 when he was elected as the sixth ACK Archbishop.
He was thereafter consecrated on July 3, 2016, replacing retired Archbishop Dr. Eliud Wabukala who had held the position since July 2009.
The Anglican Church of Kenya is governed using an Episcopal system, which means it is headed by bishops headed by the Archbishop.
In addition, the church is organized into dioceses, which are made up of geographical parishes.
Archbishop Ole Sapit is the leader of the Anglican Church and is responsible for its growth, including building capacity for the mission and deploying the church’s resources.
At times, the ACK head may speak out on issues of national importance, such as calling for prayer, repentance, and fasting, or urging the government to implement changes.
Family
Archbishop Ole Sapit is married to Mama Esther Sapit, with whom they have four children.
