Former Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua presided over the commissioning of the Expanded Joy Millers Processing plant in Kutus, Kirinyaga County, in February 2024.
Gachagua said increased processing capacity will increase the direct market for local maize farmers as the company makes a footprint in the export of flour.
He congratulated Chomba and Joy Miller’s staff for doubling the processing capacity to 800 Metric Tonnes per day in maize flour and sustaining quality.
Gachagua also praised Chomba for the multimillion-shilling investment, comparing his growth to Kenya Kwanza administration’s bottom-up economic model.
