The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has opened applications for the September–November 2025 intake of its Media Industrial Attachment Programme, offering paid internship opportunities for final-year journalism and communication students across the country.
The three-month attachment, running from September to November 2025, is designed to provide practical newsroom experience and industry exposure to help bridge the gap between academic learning and professional media practice.
“The attachment lasts for a period of Three Months (3), September – November 2025.”
Eligible applicants must be final-year students pursuing a degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or Digital and Corporate Communication from recognized institutions.
The Media Council stated that it does not charge any application fees or recruit through agents or third parties.
Requirements for MCK Attachment
Students are required to provide the following to qualify for the attachment.
- The applicants should be final-year students from a recognized university or college.
- The candidate should also have a recommendation letter from the university or college stating the period for which the placement is required.
- As per the statement by MCK, applicants must have a valid registration for the Industrial attachment unit at a college or university.
- Other requirements include academic transcripts for the current academic year and a valid student Identification Card
- They should also possess a valid MCK Student Press Card 2025, along with any samples of journalistic work completed previously.

Successful candidates will be placed in recognized media and communication outlets nationwide, gaining hands-on experience in:
- Print journalism
- Radio and television broadcasting
- Technical and production work
- Digital content creation
Students pursuing a degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Digital and Corporate Communication, who meet the above requirements, are eligible to apply.
