If you have ever wondered where Kenya’s super-rich escape when they want to dine under the stars, sleep in tents fit for royalty, or even host weddings with elephants as silent witnesses? Welcome to Olare Mara Kempinski Masai Mara Tented Camp.
The establishment is an exclusive hideaway that charges up to Ksh400,000 per night per person from Ksh270,000.
The camp is where luxury meets wilderness, hidden deep inside the Olare Motorogi Conservancy of the Masai Mara.
Olare Mara Kempinski is an exclusive eco-luxury tented camp designed for travelers seeking privacy, comfort, and authentic safari adventures.
A Look Inside Kenya’s Luxury Olare Mara Kempinski Camp
With only 12 opulent tents, the camp accommodates a maximum of 24 guests at a time, ensuring an intimate experience in one of the world’s most celebrated game reserves.
Moreover, each tent is styled to mirror the Edwardian safari era, complete with four-poster beds, wrap-around teak verandas, and oversized claw-foot bathtubs.
One tent even comes with its own private plunge pool, where you can swim in the wild while zebras graze in the distance.
It is important to note that Olare Mara Kempinski enforces a minimum two-night booking policy as the camp is designed for longer, meaningful experiences rather than overnight stopovers.
This is to allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the safari experience while reducing unnecessary air traffic and environmental strain caused by short stays.

Conservancy Fees and Activities
A stay at Olare Mara Kempinski comes with additional conservancy fees, which are charged by the Olare Motorogi Conservancy to help maintain and protect the fragile ecosystem.
These fees are collected directly at the camp and go towards supporting wildlife conservation, community projects, and anti-poaching initiatives that keep the Masai Mara pristine.
Currently, the charge stands at USD 130 (about Ksh17,000) per adult per night and USD 65 (about Ksh8,500) per child per night for children aged 8–12 years.
In practice, this means that a single adult staying for one night at the camp would spend anywhere between Ksh250,000 and Ksh275,000, exclusive of conservancy fees.
For two nights, the cost climbs even higher, making this one of the most exclusive and expensive stays in Kenya.
Activities provided at the camp include;
- Game Drives – Morning and evening safaris with KSPGA-certified guides.
- Night Safaris – These drives reveal nocturnal hunters like leopards and hyenas.
- Hot Air Balloon Safaris – Float above the Mara at dawn, landing to a champagne breakfast in the bush.
- Cultural Immersion – Visit Maasai villages, learn about traditions, and dance around firesides.
- Bush Dining – A table for two in the middle of nowhere, guarded by Maasai warriors.

Where Kenya’s Super-Rich Host Weddings
Beyond safaris, Olare Mara Kempinski is a sought-after destination wedding venue.
The camp offers bespoke wedding packages, from floral arrangements to gourmet bush banquets.
Couples can treat their guests to private game drives, hot-air balloon safaris, and cultural dances by the Maasai. And when the celebration is done, the honeymoon begins instantly.
Newlyweds retreat into their tented suites, with champagne on ice, claw-foot bathtubs drawn, and the wild serenading them all night.
The Eco-Luxury Philosophy
Olare Mara Kempinski prides itself on being eco-conscious. 70% of its energy comes from solar panels, reducing its carbon footprint.
Additionally, the camp runs the largest organic garden in the conservancy, ensuring guests dine on fresh, pesticide-free produce.
With just 12 tents, the camp avoids overburdening the fragile savannah.
