The Ministry of Health (MoH) is set to host East Africa’s largest healthcare exhibition from September 4th to 6th at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Over 8,000 healthcare and medical lab professionals are expected to attend the event that has just commenced.
In a statement on September 4, MoH announced the launch of the event dubbed as Medic East Africa Conference, highlighting its aim to unite healthcare leaders dedicated to advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
“The Medic East Africa conference commenced today in Nairobi, bringing together healthcare leaders committed to advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through innovations in pharmaceuticals and medical devices,” MoH stated.
During the event, Principal Secretary (PS) Ministry of Health Mary Muthoni, emphasized the critical importance of preventive health in reducing healthcare costs and improving access.
In addition, she highlighted the Electronic Community Health Information System (E-CHIS) as a significant tool for enhancing healthcare delivery in low-resource settings.
Similarly, PS Muthoni underscored that a strong Primary Health Care (PHC) system, reinforced by innovative solutions, is crucial for realizing UHC in Kenya and throughout East Africa.

Statement by Exhibitions Manager
Speaking at the event Senior Exhibitions Manager at Informa Markets Healthcare Tom Coleman, stated that the event was aimed at uniting the medical industry and the government in a bid to discuss the industry’s most pressing issues.
“We have created a platform to bring hospital managers, medical manufacturers, key government leaders, and medical experts into the same room for discussions on the industry’s most pressing issues.”
According to Wadwalkar, several Kenyan state officials, from the MoH to the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry as well as the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy will attend this year’s conference.
“High-level guests from a range of Ministries will ensure that the conference takes a multi-sectoral approach to areas such as primary health care, universal health coverage, and the digitization of health services,” says Wadwalkar.
Exhibitors Expected at MoH Event
At the same time, over 30 exhibiting countries will be represented at the KICC for the conferences. A key highlight of the 2024 event will be the introduction of new country pavilions from Egypt, South Africa, and Brazil.
As such, delegates can expect cutting-edge medical devices and solutions to be on display in this arena.
Likewise, Influential medical industry leaders like Roche, Snibe Diagnostic, and Crown Healthcare will join the likes of Siemens Healthineers, Fujifilm, Daedalus, and LG at this show.
These partners will bring the latest medical technologies and showcase their benefits at Medic East Africa.
“The beauty of this show is that along with these high-level partners, it remains relevant for medical associations who are on the frontlines of the region’s complex healthcare challenges,” stresses Wadwalkar.
