The Public Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted candidates for interviews to fill the positions of Registrar and Assistant Registrar of Political Parties, following a nationwide call for applications.
The notice, issued on August 7, comes in accordance with Sections 33, 34, and 34A of the Political Parties Act, CAP 7D.
The positions were advertised on July 15, 2025, with applications closing on August 5.
The Registrar of Political Parties became vacant after Ann Nderitu was sworn in as a Commissioner of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
In a notice on July 15, PSC invited applications for the two positions according to Sections 33, 34 and 34A of the Political Parties Act, CAP 70.
Ten candidates have been shortlisted for each position, with interviews scheduled for Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Public Service Commission headquarters on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.

Requirements for Interviews
The PSC stated that shortlisted candidates must appear for their interviews at the times indicated in the official schedule and should arrive at least 20 minutes early.

They are also required to present original copies of their national ID, academic and professional certificates, as well as valid clearance certificates from several government agencies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
In line with principles of transparency and accountability, the commission has invited members of the public to submit credible information about any of the candidates.
Submissions must be made via sworn affidavits to the Secretary/CEO of the PSC by email at [email protected] or delivered in person to the Commission offices by Friday, August 8.
The positions are critical in overseeing the regulation of political parties in Kenya, ensuring adherence to the law and fostering a fair political environment ahead of upcoming elections.
