The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced job opportunities for qualified and interested Kenyans.
In a statement on August 2, KPLC stated that it is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join its Management Trainee Program.
“We are looking for brilliant, dynamic, and self-driven people eager to make a difference and be part of our results- oriented teams,” reads the statement in part.
“This program offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, contributing to the growth and transformation of Kenya’s energy landscape.”
The company has announced that applications are now open for a variety of positions within its program.
Kenya Power Announces Vacancies
The utility company is seeking to recruit several engineers, including specialists in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geospatial Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.
In addition to engineering roles, the company is also looking for Accountants, Legal Officers, Security Officers, Corporate Communications Officers, Risk Officers, Planning Officers, and Internal Auditors.

KPLC further aims to fill positions for Human Resource Officers, Supply Chain Officers, Customer Service Officers, and Environmental & Social Economist Officers.
Also, the company is looking for Property Officers and Information and Communication (ICT) Officers.
The ideal applicants for the above positions must have graduated from recognized institutions after the year 2020 with bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, attaining at least second-class Honours.
Successful candidates will undergo an eighteen (18) months training program at the Company.
The training program will be structured to include classroom, mentorship, hands-on projects, and rotations across various Departments and functions among others.
Upon successful completion, they will be absorbed in specific functions of the Company.

Applicants should attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates and other testimonials.
“Please note that we may use this information to conduct background verification during the recruitment process,” KPLC indicated.

Additionally, candidates were asked to quote the title of the position they are applying for and include their mobile telephone contact and email address.
Applications should be received not later than Thursday, 22 August 2024.
Only candidates offered employment shall present the clearance certificates including a Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and a Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Others will include a valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
