The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced industrial attachment opportunities for continuing students pursuing undergraduate, certificate and diploma programs.
Further, the notice specified which students were eligible for the opportunities for the three categories stated.
For the Bachelors and Diploma students, KPLC noted that continuing students in any program could be enrolled in any of the internship programs.
“In line with the government’s commitment to support youth empowerment, Kenya Power is offering exciting attachment opportunities to continuing students to gain hands on work experience and develop key employability skills,” the notice stated in part.
However, for craft certificate students, KPLC noted that only students who had done electrical and engineering (power option), Mechanical and automotive engineering, Building and civil and plumbing programs were eligible for the internship program.
Further, the internship opportunity will last for a three-month period from January 2024 to March 2024.

How to Apply
KPLC explained the specific criteria for application for the internship program, urging interested candidates to visit their website.
“Interested persons should submit their applications online through visiting Kenya Power website, under the public information tab and careers opportunities section, “the notice clarified.
Consequently, on the website, applicants should fill out the registration form to create an account.
Further, a prompt will be sent to the email address provided.
In the prompt sent via email, applicants are required to click on the link provided to confirm the account created to initiate the application process.
Additional requirements by the lighting company are that the applicants to be available full time for the three-month duration of the internship.
Further, the applicants were required to have a valid introduction letter from their respective learning institutions.
They also called on applicants to submit applications on or before November 29, 2023.

Notably, the power company warned that they do not charge fees for submitting applications and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
