Sanlam Allianz Holdings (Kenya) PLC has announced changes to its Board of Directors, appointing two new directors.
In a notice issued by the company and signed by Group Company Secretary Emma Wachira on October 1, 2026, the company announced the appointment of Millicent Onyonyi and Hilda W. Mucha as Independent and Non-Executive Directors.
The changes also include the resignations of Dr Grace Mwai and Rose Agutu, effective September 30, 2026.
Millicent Onyonyi OGW Joins the Sanlam Allianz Board
Millicent Onyonyi has been appointed as an Independent and Non-Executive Director of Sanlam Allianz Holdings (Kenya) PLC.
“The Board of Directors of Sanlam Allianz Holdings (Kenya) PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Millicent Onyonyi as Independent and Non-Executive Director with effect from 30, September 2026,” Sanlam Allianz stated.
The company describes Onyonyi as a seasoned executive coach with more than 20 years of experience. She has served as a corporate leader and held executive positions at several multinational companies.
Her previous roles include positions at Lexo Energy, Ola Energy, BOC Kenya, Colgate, and ExxonMobil.
Onyonyi holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Human Resources.
She is also an Executive Coach certified by The Academy of Executive Coaching.
Her professional training includes strategic planning through the Mobil Executive Leadership Program at INSEAD in France and the Mobil Africa Leadership Program at CEDEP in France.
She also undertook Retail Excellence Africa training in Paris, France.
Onyonyi has been awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) by the President. According to the notice, the honor recognized her contribution to national development in Kenya.
Hilda Mucha Appointed
Hilda W. Mucha has also joined the Sanlam Allianz Kenya board as an Independent and Non-Executive Director.
“The Board of Directors of Sanlam Allianz Holdings (Kenya) PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Hilda W. Mucha as Independent and Non-Executive Director with effect from 30 September 2026.”
Mucha brings more than 30 years of experience in accountancy, audit and risk management, as well as regulatory and corporate governance.
She currently works as an Independent Consultant, focusing on accounting and finance advisory in East and Central Africa.

Mucha has also served as a Non-Executive Director at Jubilee Insurance.
Her academic and professional qualifications include a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Westminster.
She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and holds a Corporate Governance Certification from the Center for Corporate Governance.
Two Directors Resign
The board changes also include the departure of Dr Grace Mwai and Rose Agutu.
Dr Grace Mwai resigned from the board effective September 30, 2026, after serving as an Independent and Non-Executive Director since May 9, 2019.
During her tenure, Mwai served as Chairperson of the Human Resources, Nomination and Remuneration Committee. She also served on the Investment Committee.

Rose Agutu also resigned from the board effective September 30, 2026, after serving as an Independent and Non-Executive Director since May 9, 2019.
During her tenure, Agutu served on the Audit, Actuarial, Risk and Compliance Committee.
The company said its Board and Management were grateful to Mwai and Agutu for their contribution to the board and wished them well in their future endeavors.
