The Kenya Power and Lighting company has announced that it is offering industrial attachment opportunities for continuing students for its September to November 2024 intake.
In a statement, the power company explained that the opportunity will allow the students to gain hands-on work experience and develop key employability skills.
Further, the statement explained that the opportunities will be open for different levels of education including bachelor’s degree, Diploma, and certificate courses.
KPLC stated that the industrial attachment opportunities are available in various Departments for a maximum period of three (3) months.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Kenya Power Attachments
Students pursuing various degree and diploma courses have been invited to apply for the opportunities.
However, for craft certificate students, the company has indicated that it is accepting applications from those pursuing electrical and electronics engineering (power option), Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
Additionally, those pursuing Building and Civil Engineering and plumbing under the craft certificate category have been invited to apply.
“This excludes ICT related Degree or Diploma or Certificate Programs,” explained the statement.
Moreover, interested candidates should be available full time for the duration of the program and must be a continuing student, pursuing a Degree, Diploma, or Craft Certificate (above stated fields only), from an accredited learning Institution.
Furthermore, they must have a valid introduction letter from the respective learning Institution.

How to Apply
Interested and qualified candidates have been directed to submit their applications online through the Kenya Power website at http://www.kplc.co.ke.
After accessing the website, the applicant should navigate to the career opportunities section under the Public Information tab.
For undergraduate students, the application reference number is KP1/ATTGRAD/24/3, while for diploma students, the reference number is KP1/ATTDIP/24/3.
Also, Craft Certificate in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Power Option) and Craft Certificate in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering are required to use KP1/ATTCERT/24/3 as their reference number.
The deadline for submitting applications is July 24, 2024.
“Applications should be received not later than Wednesday, 24th July 2024. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
“Kenya Power does not charge any fee at any stage of the recruitment process (application, shortlisting, interviewing, and/or offer),” noted Kenya Power.
