The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced posting of 6,484 healthcare interns under the 2025/2026 Internship Cohort.
In a statement issued on June 27, 2025, the Ministry of Health confirmed that the deployment of healthcare interns is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2025.
“The Ministry of Health, in fulfilment of its commitment to ensure the timely deployment of interns by 1st July 2025, is pleased to announce the official posting of 6,484 healthcare interns under the 2025/2026 Internship Cohort,” read the statement.
The interns will be deployed to accredited internship centres, where they will undertake a 12-month structured internship programme designed to provide supervised clinical training and practical exposure in real-world healthcare settings.
Ministry of Health Deploys Over 6,000 Healthcare Interns
The deployed cadres and their respective numbers are as follows:

All eligible pre-interns are advised to collect their posting letters in person on Monday, 30th June 2025, from 9:00 a.m. at the Ministry of Health Headquarters – Afya House, Nairobi.
Interns should note that offer letters will only be issued upon presentation of a valid National Identity Card.
Interns have been advised that collecting their offer letters promptly will ensure smooth reporting and readiness at their designated facilities.

The Ministry has urged all interns to take the opportunity seriously and approach their duties with professionalism and a spirit of service.

Penalties for Failure to Complete Internship Successfully
Interns will be subject to the rules of employment with the relevant authorities under which they work.
An intern is deemed to have failed internship under the following circumstances:
a) Professional incompetence which includes:
- Performance below average in knowledge and skills.
- Failure to undertake most of the key activities prescribed in the logbook.
b) Professional and general misconduct including:
- Negligence in management of patients.
- Engaging in inappropriate relationships with patients.
- Abuse of patient confidentiality and trust.
- Lack of sense of responsibility.
- Inappropriate dressing.
- Lack for respect for patients, the public and colleagues.
- Indiscipline such as absence from duty without good cause and reporting late to work.
- Substance abuse
