The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced internship opportunities targeting specific Kenyans, offering a monthly stipend of KSh15,000.
In a notice on Tuesday, September 16, NYS noted that the internships target female graduates living with disabilities (PWDs). The program is part of NYS’s domestic job linkages initiative, aimed at connecting its alumni with employment opportunities.
The internships are available in collaboration with a logistics firm that has been at the forefront of empowering women in the transport and logistics sector — a field traditionally dominated by men.
“Specializing in providing top-tier logistics solutions tailored to meet the dynamic needs of businesses in Kenya and East Africa, our client has been at the forefront in the mentorship of women providing them with the guidance, knowledge, and opportunities they need to excel in a traditionally male-dominated field of transport and logistics,” the notice reads.
According to NYS, the six-month program is designed to provide mentorship, practical experience, and potential job placement for successful candidates.
