Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) and KenGen have announced various job opportunities.
At KMA, a total of 34 vacancies have been advertised in a notice dated Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
“Kenya Maritime Authority is a State Corporation mandated to regulate, coordinate, and oversee maritime affairs as guided by the Kenya Maritime Authority Act, 2006, the Merchant Shipping Act, 2009, and relevant international maritime conventions. The Authority is seeking to recruit highly competent, proactive, and self-driven individuals to fill the following vacant positions,” read the notice.
Kenya Maritime Declares 34 Job Openings
According to KMA, the 34 job openings cover a wide range of positions. These include senior roles such as a Senior Maritime Logistics Training Officer, three Senior Ports and Shipping Services Officers, and a Senior Administration Officer.
The Authority is also seeking to recruit three Legal Officers to serve in Board Services, Legal Services, and Maritime Governance, respectively.

In addition, there are opportunities for two Office Administrators, a Surveyor for Seafarers Training Standards (Nautical), a Surveyor for Seafarers Training Standards (Engineering), and a Maritime Labour Officer.

For positions such as drivers some of Key Responsibilities include:
• Safely operate Authority vehicles to transport staff, guests, and materials as required.
• Conduct routine inspection and maintenance checks on assigned vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
• Report any mechanical faults or required repairs promptly to the Transport Officer.
• Ensure proper cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and service schedules.
Required Qualifications for Driver Position
• A valid Kenyan driving license with classes B, C, and E.
• A minimum KCSE mean grade of D+ (plus) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
• At least three years’ driving experience in a reputable organization or public institution.
