The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced the recruitment centre and dates for former NYS graduates interested in joining the Kenya Police Service.
The Employment Liaison Office has announced that the Kenya Police recruitment exercise for former NYS members will take place on November 17, 2025.
In the announcement dated November 15, NYS stated that the recruitment exercise will be held at NHU Grounds, off Thika Road, opposite Utalii Hotel.
The NHU centre is exclusively for Ex-NYS candidates who hold a valid National Youth Service Discharge Certificate.
“The recruitment exercise will be conducted at NHU Grounds, off Thika Road, opposite Utalii Hotel,” part of the notice read.
This follows an addendum to the Kenya Police Recruitment Advertisement 2025, which added Ruaraka (NYS Headquarters) as a Recruitment Centre.
Requirements
All participants must meet the requirements outlined in the official Kenya Police recruitment advertisement.
Candidates are required to download, complete, and present the Police Constable Application Form, which is available online.
Entry to NHU Grounds will require a valid NYS Discharge Certificate, which will serve as the gate pass for the exercise.
What Ex-NYS Applicants Need to Know When Filling the Application Form
Candidates applying for the National Police Service as police constables must fill out the official application form in neat block letters.
The fully completed form must be submitted to the recruitment panel at the National Police Service Recruitment Center on the designated recruitment date.
The form requires personal information, including the applicant’s full name, title, gender, nationality, ID number, tribe, county, sub-county, constituency, division, location, and sub-location.

Applicants must also provide their date and place of birth, age, weight, height, physical address, telephone number, and email address if applicable.
Candidates must specify the position for which they are applying and indicate their preferred service: Kenya Police Service, Administration Police Service, or General Service Unit.
An alternate contact person must be listed, including their name, relationship, physical address, telephone number, and email address (if applicable).

Section 2 of the Application Form
Educational qualifications must be detailed, including the name of the school, college, university, or institution attended, the duration, the course undertaken, the award or attainment (e.g., degree, diploma, certificate), and the grade achieved.
Applicants must provide their employment history, starting from the most recent position, and disclose any disciplinary actions or criminal convictions.
They are required to declare any injury, medical condition, disability, or psychological issue that may affect their ability to perform the duties of the position, along with any necessary facilities or accommodations.
Candidates must nominate three referees who can vouch for their suitability; referees should not be relatives and may be contacted after shortlisting.
The application must be completed with the applicant’s signature and the date.
According to NPS, the two completed forms must be presented in person during recruitment, and only those who follow the outlined procedures will be considered.
