About ODPP
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is an institution in many countries, responsible for overseeing the prosecution of criminal cases on behalf of the state.
Its primary role is to ensure that justice is served through fair, impartial, and effective legal proceedings.
The ODPP operates independently from other branches of government, including the police and judiciary, to avoid political or external influence in prosecutorial decisions.
It assesses evidence gathered by law enforcement, determines whether charges should be filed, and leads the prosecution of cases in court.
