The State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development has announced 100 permanent job openings for the position of Driver II, CSG 15, offering a competitive salary and a range of allowances.
Qualified candidates will earn a monthly salary ranging between Ksh19,340 and Ksh24,470, along with additional perks including a commuter allowance of Ksh3,000 and a leave allowance of Ksh4,000 per year.
House allowance will vary based on the region of deployment.
To qualify, applicants must have:
- A KCSE mean grade of D plain or equivalent,
- A valid driver’s license free from endorsements for class(es) of vehicles to be driven,
- First-Aid Certification from a recognized institution (minimum one-week course),
- Suitability Test Grade III,
- A valid Police Clearance Certificate, and
- At least two years of driving experience.
The job is offered on a permanent basis under the Public Service Commission.

Key Duties of a Driver
- Drive government vehicles safely and efficiently on assigned routes.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle usage, including mileage and fuel consumption.
- Ensure that passengers and goods are safely transported to their destinations.
