The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced over 700 job openings in various government ministries and state departments.
In a notice published on Tuesday, February 27, the Commission advertised among others- a vacancy in the position of the Director General of Health.
Dr Patrick Amoth has been the holder of the position in an acting capacity since 2020 in what has occasionally turned to be a subject of discussion.
The office bearer takes home a salary of between Ksh655,875 and Ksh874,500 per month and enjoys other benefits including an annual leave of 30 days, and a medical cover from the state designated for public officers under category CSG3.
PSC also announced a vacancy in the Deputy Director General for Health position (CSG4).
Still in the Ministry of Health, the PSC is looking for candidates to fill posts including that of Director Health Management Services (Public Health), Director Health Management Services (Primary Health Care), and Director Health Management Services (Health Sector Coordination and Research) which all fall under job category CSG4.
Officers under CSG4 are employed under permanent and pensionable terms in most instances and enjoy a monthly salary of between of between Ksh180,160 and Ksh335,450.
PSC announces 300 vacant positions
Under the Public Service department, PSC is looking to hire some 300 assistant office administrators (category 3) which fall under category CSG12.

The assistant office administrators are deployed in various offices for duties including organizing and maintaining diaries, communicating and follow up, drafting minutes in departmental meetings, and producing crucial documents and papers.
According to past PSC adverts, officers serving under the CSG12 categories are entitled to a monthly salary of between Ksh26,900 and Ksh35, 380.
PSC is also looking to deploy 100 Office administrators to the Public Service department (job group CSG11), 50 Human Resource Management Assistants (category 3), and 40 Human Resource Management and Development Officers.

Other vacancies in the Public Service as advertised in the notice include 10 Human Resource information officers, 9 Psychological Counsellor, and 5 Management analysts.
Opportunities in the Livestock department
In the Livestock Department, the PSC advertised openings for 80 lecturers (category 2), 20 Lecturer (1), and 30 veterinary officers.
Other vacant posts in the Department include zoologists (6), laboratory analysts (9), animal health officers 97), and registered nurses (6).
PSC, in its notice, invited interested persons to make their applications online through the website www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke on or before close of business (5pm) on March 19, 2023.
