The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced over 600 job vacancies in the Public Service.
In a notice published on Tuesday, January 23, the Commission invited qualified persons meeting the requirements set for the various positions to apply on or before February 13.
The jobs are spread across various government ministries and departments including the Ministry of Interior, the Correctional Services department, the department of Irrigation, Petroleum and Mining.
Breakdown of PSC Jobs
In the Ministry of Interior, the state is seeking to recruit 22 County Commissioners or Administrative Secretaries.
The Interior Ministry is also looking for 80 assistant directors of Civil Registration Services, 17 Deputy Directors of Civil Registration, and one Secretary of Refugee Affairs.
In addition, the Ministry is looking for a Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons (one slot), Deputy Director, Kenya School of Adventure and Leadership (1 slot).
State Department of Industires
On its part, the State Department of Industries announced 73 vacancies for the positions of Principal Industrial Development Officer, 39 Assistant Directors of Industry, and 8 Deputy Directors of Industries.
The industry department is also looking to hire one director of the Kenya Industrial Training Institute (KITI) and the deputy directors.
Ministry of Mining
The Ministry of Mining announced openings in the position Inspector of Mines (76 slots) geologists (36), Inspector of Explosives (22), Drilling Assistant (15), Laboratory Geologists (5), and Laboratory technologists (4).

Other jobs in the mining department include chemists (five slots), and inspector of drilling (4 vacancies).
Also listed on the notice are vacancies in the Ministry of Labour, with openings in positions like Assistant Commissioner for Labour (30), Deputy Commissioner for Labour (15), and that of Assistant Director Occupational Safety and Health Services (50 slots).

The labor department also advertised vacant slots for Assistant Director, Post Training and Skills Development (8), Director of Productivity (2) and Deputy Directors of Productivity (7).
