The Public Service Commission (PSC) has cancelled 86 diplomatic job vacancies in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that were previously advertised.
This announcement was made through an official notice signed by the Secretary and CEO of the Public Service Commission on November 18.
The positions were announced on October 29, 2025, through the Commission’s website and the official jobs portal.
“The following advertised posts are hereby cancelled,” read part of the PSC notice.
Applicants were expected to submit their applications on or before November 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. East Africa Time.
PSC Cancelled Jobs
The cancelled vacancies covered three senior categories within the Foreign Service.
First in the category was Director, Foreign Service/Minister II (Grade CSG 5), which carried 37 vacancies.
This was followed by the Deputy Director, Foreign Service/Minister Counsellor (Grade CSG 6), which had 26 available positions.
PSC had also advertised the position of the Assistant Director, Foreign Service/Counsellor (Grade CSG 7), with 23 advertised vacancies.
The withdrawal of these posts brings the total cancellations to 86.

However, no specific reason has been provided for the cancellation of the recruitment process.
In its statement, the Commission clarified that it does not charge fees for any part of the recruitment process, including applications, shortlisting, interviews, or appointments, urging the public to be vigilant and aware of potential fraudsters.
“Caution: Beware of fraudsters soliciting bribes from the public while masquerading as Commission staff. Public Service Commission does not charge any fee for job applications, shortlisting, interviews or appointments,” the statement read.
The reason for the cancellation, however, was not disclosed.
Bandari Maritime College Cancels Job Advert
In a separate notice, the Bandari Maritime College, Kenya’s premier marine engineering institution, has canceled an advertisement that had previously announced three positions.
The affected positions include that of Deputy Director of Advancement and Placement. The advertisements for a Corporate Communication and Marketing Officer as well as a Trainer of Nautical Science were also cancelled.
