The Executive Office of President William Ruto has declared four vacancies for the positions of a chairperson and members of the Audit Committee.
In a May 28 notice, the office invited applications from qualified and interested Kenyans to fill the positions of the Chairperson and members of the Ministerial Audit Committee.
“Pursuant to Section 75 (5) of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, PFM Regulations, 2015 (174) and the guideline for establishment of Audit Committees in public entities vide Kenya Gazette Notice Vol. CXVII-No. 40 of 15th April 2016, the Executive Office of the President, Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service invites applications from qualified and interested Kenyans to fill the positions of the Chairperson and members of the Ministerial Audit Committee,” read part of the advert.
To be appointed as the chairperson of the audit committee, an applicant must possess a degree from a recognized university in Kenya specialized in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Economics and Risk management Knowledge.
Other Requirements for the Appointment of a Chairperson
He/she is required to have expertise of not less than 7 years in Audit and/or Financial Management/Accounting/Economics with experience and knowledge in Risk Management.
Be a member of a professional body preferably ICPAK or IIA(K) and in good standing integrity and in compliance with chapter six of the in compliance with requirements of o constitution of Кеnуа, 2010.

One is also required to have proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills and not to be a present or past employee or an agent of the Executive Office of the President Ruto.
Other requirements include over ten (10) years of experience at senior management level in a reputable organization; Knowledge in public service/ government operations
Committe Members (3)
To be appointed a member of the audit committee, one must have a degree from a recognized university in Kenya and specialized in Finance, Accounts, Auditing, Eco- nomics and Risk Management.
The candidate can be a member of a professional body preferably ICPAK or A(K) and in good standing Working experience of not less than 5 years.
He/she should not be a present or past employee or an agent of the operations Knowledge in public service/government operations.
Also, the applicant must be a person of integrity and in compliance with requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya 2010.
Terms of Employment and Remuneration in the Office of President Ruto
Members of the Audit Committee shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years and eligible for reappointment once (subject to satisfactory performance).
Allowances will be prescribed from time to time by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission on account attendance of audit committee meetings.

“Also to note, applications should be submitted in sealed envelope clearly marked: “Application for the Position of Chairperson or Member-Executive Office of the President, Chief of Staff and the Head of Public Service Audit Committee,” reads part in the advert.
Applications can be delivered to Executive Office of the President, Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, P.O Box 40530-00100, Nairobi or hand delivered to Executive Office of the President at Harambee House 3rd floor, Nairobi.
The deadline of application is on or before Monday 10 June 2024 latest by 1.00 pm.
Other Information to Note
Applicants, if shortlisted, are required to produce original documents of the National Identity Card, Academic and Professional certificates and transcripts, and any other supporting documents and testimonials.
Others include a valid and current clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Higher Education Loans Board and any of the Registered Credit Reference Bureaus, and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance).
Candidates can also submit recommendations from relevant professional bodies (where applicable).
