Abdullswamad Nassir Sheriff is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the governor of Mombasa County since August 2022, elected on an ODM ticket under the Azimio la Umoja alliance.
He previously served as the Member of Parliament for Mvita Constituency from 2012 to 2022 and is the deputy party leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
He is also the founder and was the CEO of Radio Rahma.

Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir began his education at Aga Khan Primary School in Mombasa before transferring to Coast Academy, where he completed his primary education in 1988.
He later joined Lenana School in Nairobi, where he pursued his secondary education and completed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 1992.
In 2014, he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Inoorero University.
He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in commerce at Mount Kenya University, highlighting his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Career
Before venturing into politics, Nassir established himself in the media industry as the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Radio Rahma, a popular station in the coastal region.
His entry into active politics came in 2013 when he was elected Member of Parliament for Mvita Constituency on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.
He served for two terms, from 2013 to 2022.
During his time in Parliament, Nassir chaired the Public Investments Committee (PIC), where he oversaw accountability in the use of public resources.
In the August 2022 general election, he was elected Governor of Mombasa County, succeeding Hassan Joho.
Beyond county leadership, Nassir also serves as the Deputy Party Leader of ODM.

Abdullswamad Nassir was born in Majengo, Mombasa County, into a politically active family.

He is the son of the late Sheriff Nassir, a former Mvita Member of Parliament and senior official of the Kenya African National Union (KANU), and Nassim Sheriff Nassir.
