Biography
Joshua Oigara is a Kenyan businessman, accountant, and corporate executive, and the current Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Bank Kenya and South Sudan, starting in November 2022. On August 21, 2025, Oigara was named Stanbic Bank’s Regional Chief Executive (RCE) for East Africa.
Education
Joshua’s academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in commerce, specializing in accounting, from the University of Nairobi, earned between 1993 and 1997.
The CEO also completed the Management Development Program at the University of Pretoria in 2005.

Additionally, he has pursued various executive education programs, including the Digital Business Transformation at IMD in 2017, the Senior Executive Program at London Business School (2015-2016), and the Program for Management Development (PMD) at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 2006
Oigara holds an MBA with a distinction in International Business Management from Edith Cowan University, Australia, completed in 2010.
He is also an Advanced Management Programme Graduate from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
Likewise, he is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, CPA (K), and a member of the Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
Positions Held by Joshua Oigara
Joshua Oigara was appointed as the Chief Executive and Executive Director of Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited on 1st December 2022 and 1 January 2023, respectively.
He previously served as Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, KCB Group for close to ten years.
Oigara has, over the last decade, been instrumental in driving growth and development of the banking sector. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Stanbic Nominees Limited.

He also held the position of Chairman of the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) Governing Council from June 2018 to May 2021, leading the strategy and vision of the association.
Before these roles, he served as Group Chief Financial Officer for KCB Bank Group from 2011 to 2012, and spent over seven years with Bamburi Cement Ltd.
Prior to his tenure at Bamburi Cement, he was the Group Business Performance Manager at Bidco Africa from 2002 to 2004. His professional career began at PwC, where he worked from 1997 to 2001 across various locations in Africa.
