Chiforomodo Mangale Munga is a Kenyan politician and is the current Member of Parliament for Lunga Lunga Constituency, Kwale County.
Educational Background
Born and raised in Kwale, Munga began his education in 1982, completing his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education in 1989 with a mean score of 42 out of 72.
He proceeded to Lunga Lunga Secondary School, where he attained a KCSE mean grade of C+ in 1993.
From 1995 to 1997, he trained as a teacher at Kaimosi Teachers Training College, earning a P1 Certificate.
He later joined Kenyatta University, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Education in Special Education, Second Class.
Career
His teaching career began in 1997 at Gona Primary School under the Teachers Service Commission, and in 2005, he became Deputy Head Teacher at Mwangulu Primary School.
Alongside teaching, he was active in the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), serving as Executive Secretary for Msambweni Branch, later for Kwale District, and as Coast Region Chairperson between 2009 and 2013.
In 2012, he was voted the best Executive Secretary in Kenya by KNUT.

In 2013, Munga was appointed County Executive Committee Member for Education in Kwale County, a position he held until 2022.
Under his tenure, over 380 modern Early Childhood Development Education centres were constructed, benefiting more than 64,000 children.
Munga was very vocal in championing girls’ education, fought early marriages, and supported vocational training.
Political career
In the 2022 general election, Munga contested for the Lunga Lunga parliamentary seat on a UDM ticket, defeating incumbent Khatib Mwashetani.
Munga has overseen the construction of classrooms, dormitories, laboratories, administrative blocks, and ablution facilities for the people of Lunga Lunga since his election.
He has also initiated road murraming, cabro pavements, police post renovations, and chiefs’ office upgrades.
He has helped resolve the lack of water issue in Lunga Lunga by starting the Ksh14 million Mwena Dam with a capacity of 40,000 cubic metres, serving over 600 households.
His “Lunga Lunga TuchapeKazi” SACCO now boasts over Ksh5 million in savings and more than 1,100 members.
He doubled the constituency bursary allocation from Ksh35 million to Ksh70 million, introduced a Ksh10,000 bursary for day scholars, and eliminated poor grades in beneficiary schools.
