Born on September 4, 2025, Samuel Chepkonga Kiprono is a Kenyan politician who was elected as the Member of the National Assembly representing Ainabkoi Constituency.
Educational Background
Samuel Chepkonga started school in his area’s local schools before joining the University of Nairobi, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree between 1984 and 1987.
In 1987–1988, he attended the Kenya School of Law, graduating with a Diploma in Law, and was immediately admitted to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Chepkonga then returned to the University of Nairobi for a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from 2003 to 2005, later broadening his leadership credentials by earning a Master’s degree in Leadership from the International Leadership University between 2008 and 2010.

Corporate career
Between 1995 and 1999, Chepkonga began his professional life as the Company Secretary at the Kenya Planters and Co-operative Union (KPCU), where he was responsible for legal compliance, corporate governance, and advising the board on statutory matters.

In 1999, he was appointed Director General of the Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK), a position he held until 2003.
At CCK, his influence was largely seen as he was hugely involved in regulatory reforms during the early stages of Kenya’s telecommunications liberalization.
From 2003 to 2013, Chepkonga returned to private legal practice as an Advocate at Kamotho Maiyo & Co Advocates.
Political career
Chepkonga started active politics in 2013, when he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Eldoret East under the United Republican Party (URP) ticket.
In the same term, there were national changes in constituency boundaries, and he became the MP for Ainabkoi Constituency.
During his tenure, he chaired the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee and served on the Liaison Committee, acting as a legislative overseer on constitutional implementation, electoral laws, and judicial reforms.
Samuel Chepkonga lost his parliamentary seat in the 2027 General elections and was appointed as a Commissioner at the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC), a role he held until 2022.
Chepkonga made a political comeback in August 2022, reclaiming his position as the Ainabkoi constituency Member of Parliament, this time under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
