Baby Top, popularly known as Muthoni wa Kirumba, is one of Kenya’s most recognized vernacular radio presenters.
Born Gladys Muthoni Njoroge, Baby Top has built a following, particularly among Kikuyu radio listeners, through her lively on-air style and humor.
Age and Background
Baby Top was born in 1989 and comes from Nyandarua County, although she says she spent part of her early years in Mombasa.
She comes from a diverse background, with a Kikuyu father and a Kamba mother.
Baby Top has publicly said that due to her parents’ busy schedules, she spent much of her childhood in boarding school, an experience that shaped her discipline and independence.
Baby Top Education and Career Journey
After completing her secondary education, she pursued studies in Mass Communication and Journalism.

Baby Top began her radio career in 2011 at Bahasha FM, where she gained her first experience in vernacular broadcasting.
In 2012, she joined Kameme FM, one of Kenya’s leading vernacular stations. It is at Kameme FM that she rose to prominence, becoming one of the most influential voices in Kikuyu radio.
She currently co-hosts the popular mid-morning show Canjamuka alongside Chef Gathemba.
The Canjamuka show attracts a wide audience due to its mix of entertainment, social discussions and listener engagement.
Muthoni wa Kirumba has built a personal brand that extends beyond radio to include live events and roadshows, music promotion in the Mugithi scene, and social media content creation.

Baby Top is a mother to one child, Adrian, whom she has occasionally spoken about publicly.
In 2025, she celebrated an emotional birthday with a message she posted on her Facebook page when Adrian turned 11 in July.
“Dear God, Thank you for the gift of my son Adrian.Today, as he celebrates another year of life. I’m filled with gratitude for his health, his laughter, and the joy he brings to my family,” wrote Baby Top.
Wakirumba has kept many details of her personal relationships private.
Wakirumba also engages in community and charity work, supporting vulnerable groups and participating in outreach programs.
